Through its “Colour a Child’s Life” project, Kids Company volunteers help to transform the living conditions of children in some of London’s most disadvantaged communities. Kids Company staff who specialise in cleaning, decorating and carpentry are assisted in renovating the home by volunteers, either as individuals or in corporate teams.

On a wet February morning, seven of the gmk team pitched up in South London in our best painting and decorating gear to help redecorate the bedrooms of two charming girls. Whilst we were expecting to see some degree of deprivation and poverty, the children’s living conditions came as a shock to all of us. After a day spent cleaning, painting and constructing flat pack furniture (the latter being the most challenging!) the transformation was in place. It was an absolute delight to see the looks on the kids’ faces when they came home, and made the hard labour and aching muscles feel more than worthwhile.

Referral Scheme

We hope that you feel able to recommend gmk to friends and colleagues because of the quality of our service, however as an extra incentive we also operate a referral scheme.

As a token of our appreciation if you refer a candidate to us who we place in a permanent position at a salary of £100k+, we will give you £2,000 worth of vouchers of your choice. For salaries £60k-100k it will be £1,500, and below £60k it will be £1,000. Contract or temp roles pro rata.

Just ask them to mention your name when they contact us!

Terms and conditions
  • The gift amount will be awarded 12 weeks after the referee has commenced their new role.
  • To participate in this scheme candidates must mention they were referred to us by you when they first contact us.
  • If the referred candidate is already on our database and has been contacted by us in the last six months, the referral will not qualify as part of the scheme.
  • For temporary placements, the gift amount due is pro rated according to the period of time they are retained by the firm.
